Hi every one
I was talking to my dad this morning ( also an ra sufferer ) he has had both hips and a shoulder replaced he was asking me about having a MRI done
My consultant has never mentioned having one
My hip is really giving a lot of pain not to mention hands feet and shoulder on and off
Has any one any experience with MRI s and how bad have to be to be referred for one
Hugs to every one and I hope every one is doing OK

Hi Tara, I had MRI scan for OA and slipped disc of the lower spine. I have also had CT scan Which showed OA in different joints. I no longer am able to MRI scans as I have a pacemaker but CT scans are just as effective.
You don't have to be bad to have MRI it will depend what your Consultant wants to see.I had lots of hip pain it was caused by not walking correctly due to slipped disc.
I hope you get the answers you are looking for. Have a chat with your consultant about your concerns.

Had xrays of my feet hand and chest last year just before I started mxt but nothing since
It seems to be a very slow process and sometimes I get very frustrated

Tara, it is a slow process, so we just have to keep our chins up. The frustration part is something we all suffer from and it is hard.
You take care and keep in contact and let us know how you are getting on.

I echo that comment Tara. It's a very frustrating illness and the treatment complicated. Just hang on in there
