Can anyone tell me of their experiences having Humira injections and any side effects. I have been on Methotrixate for nearly 2 years, 20mg, take Folic Acid twice a week and Tramadol, 300 - 400mg daily. I have also tried Salazopyrin, Naproxin and Hydroxychloroquine but had to stop them because of side effects. The result is my CRP has gone from 29 to 79 which is why injections have been advised. Can anyone advise. Many thanks.

hi Val started Humira about 2-3 months ago - so far a huge improvement in condition I almost feel human again. It took the 2 months for any signs of improvement. still get weary and tired so still can't do too much or i suffer the next day! and still have the odd ache . i also have 20mg metoject (methotrexate injection) weekly and take 400mg hydroxychloroquine a day, folic acid 5mg daily 6 out of 7 days. the nurse when she came regards the humira advised maybe taking a anti histamine tablet day before humira injection incase of side effects such as rash, itching etc. The only side effect i have had from it is a feeling of hayfever , stuffy nose more than normal, itchy eyes - hence the anti histamine I am glad the doc put me on this as the metoject alone was not working. not had any steroids for over 7 months now which is good for me good luck with it, I hope it works, but remember to give it a few months to kick in properly take care xxx

Many thanks for replying.I thought when you have injections all other medication stops but you have confirmed I am wrong. I have been given a choice of injections but there seems to be more information about Humira than any other. Again many thanks.

Hi Val, I have humira injections along with leflunomide and mxt. I was on Enbrel for two and a half years before it stopped working. I found the Enbrel worked better and I wasn't on mxt with it.

Had Humira and felt better within days, all symptoms went - arthritis and psoriasis, but after a couple of months it all gradually came back, six months and it was doing nothing, now waiting to go on Enbrel.
