Subject: Hello

Hi - just found this forum and signed up. This year has seen my mobility reduce greatly, and I've recently been diagnosed with Psiroatic Arthritis.

It's affecting me everywhere, but my real problem is in walking and one shoulder being extremely painful. I can only do really short distances with the aid of a stick, and even that is painful. I'm a houswife, and don't claim anything (don't see any point in trying with the current system). What I am wondering... is would I be able to qualify for a blue badge for parking? If so, how do I go about it? I am becoming almost a recluse, as it's so difficult to get about. I'm 45 and feeling like an old woman. By the time I've parked anywhere, I'm struggling by the time I've got out of the car park. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.

To get a Blue Badge contact your local council for a form. Some councils have the forms to download. The forms are easy to fill in and you will get a reply relatively quick. Good Luck

I filled in a form from the council to get mine, but i believe you can also go through your GP to get a blue badge. Some councils are better than others at giving out blue badges. Good luck.

I had to take my form to my doctor and they had to write a few things down and sign it. I am in Scotland though and don't know if it's the same procedure elsewhere.
