Subject: trouble getting diagnosed (2)

Hi everyone. Thanks in advance and my sympathies for fellow sufferers! I am male, 38, not overweight and reasonably fit, however after about a year of a dull ache in the ball of my right foot, it has gone haywire over the last few weeks and is often much too sore to put any weight on it. My doctor suggests gout, but also floats the possibility of arthritis, tendonitis, and bunions. Xray is inconclusive and blood tests show low uric acid. He doesn't seem that interested in getting to the bottom of it - I obviously am, but I'm finding lots of contradictory evidence of what it might be and how to treat it. Does anyone have a similar experience and if so can they enlighten me? Thanks again
