If you are near a lidl or aldi they are doing some cheap snow spikes - basically rubber things with spikes on that fit over your shoes an give you grip.......I think these would be ideal for you and I have got a pair for myself. I even got an amazing deal on a walking stick at the Range - it has a shock absorber built in so makes walking a lot easier, and if you take the rubber ferrule off the bottom it has a spike which will work wonders on frozen ground......and best of all it was only £3 as it is a end of run item......so I got a few :-) Best wishes and please do take care! Having fallen at work 4 weeks ago and chipped a bit of my pelvis - I know how falling can affect us!

Hi Rob,I am also an OA sufferer, yes it is normal to have fears of falling I don't know how old you are, but it makes me nervous. Make sure you have good soles for snow and take a walking stick. Life does change but you will get less fearful as time goes on.Take care and I wish you well.

Levi, where did you get the walking stick from? Very good price.

Gillian, I got the walking stick in the Range. Mine was in Cardiff but I am sure that it was not just a local store thing.
