Subject: Product Design Project

Dear all,

I am a final year Product Design student and I am designing an automaic page turner that holds and turns pages of physical books. I'm hoping that this would help to benefit those who love to read but unable to due to loss of motor skills or limitations in movement.

I know that there are products out there at the moment e.g. Kindle, that allows people to read books but people still love to read a physical book. However, due to having arthritis, I know people that find it painful after a while to hold a book.

I wondered if this is a product anyone would be interested in? Do you find it difficult to read books due to arthritis? Is there a possibly anyone would be able to share their experiences living with arthritis.

Thanks,

I prefer books. It's not so easy to find particular pages or chapters with kindle. New books are quite stiff and difficult for anyone with arthritis to hold open.

I don't have much problem with turning pages but I find books hard to hold for any length of time as my hands hurt too much after awhile. I do have a kindle which is great, but you can't get library books for it (yet), or books from charity shops!
