Hi again, just wondered if any ladies with severe arthritis have had new knees and have you had amazing results. May need one and would love to hear that they are marvelous!

I haven't had my knee replaced but had both my hips done, which are fantastic. When I was waiting for my first one I went to my friends wedding her mother in law had had her knee done and she said it was really good. Have you managed to see a rheumatologist about your knee yet? They usually keep replacements as a last resort, they tried a steroid injection in my hip first.

Hello 'going strong', thanks for response. I have had RA for 30years and the knee does do this every few years. I have been told I probably need one earlier this year, but when all is going 'not too bad' I tend not to think about it. This last 2weeks of hell, have frightened me and am thinking it may be the way to go. But am hoping for a magic injection on Tuesday. Regards. X

Emm,I thought that as well as i have had loads of injections into them and thought i would probably need replacements but i was told the xrays were alright, they did show some space between joints, whatever that means. I am hoping the medications will stop the need for a replacement for a while yet. x

Rhona, I think that means you are not down to bone rubbing against bone. I think that's a good thing! The injections usually work well for me too, but I don't think it has ever been as painful as this. Perhaps the length of time I've had to put up with it too has contributed. Take care. X
