Subject: Grip enhancement...
Hi, I am new to this forum. I'm Greg and I'm 43 and have just been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. Mostly I feel my grip is affected and I have lost strength. I play golf but I don't trust my hands to hold on to the clubs and I wonder if anyone knows if there are any special gloves to enhance or strengthen your grip? Grateful for any ideas. /Greg

Not sure about a glove.... but when I was having issues with grip strength the Occ therapists gave me a kind of putty to squeeze. I guess over time it excersises the grip muscles and strengthens them.

I had physiotherapy on my left hand after an infection in my wrist. I used a bath sponge. Squeezing it helped strengthen my grip.

Google 'bionic golf gloves'. I have the gardening gloves in this range and they are excellent.

I had a similar problem, but not with golf but with horse riding. I've been riding from childhood and had to give it up when I was diagnosed with RA until recently. My physician told me about a new Swedish innovation called the "SEM Glove" which is amazing. Since I ordered it 6 months ago I am able to cope with almost anything that requires a firm grip. It is a soft glove with sensors and a motor that fully mimicks your grip but substantially increase the strength. I can now ride again! I actually wear the glove almost every day now.

Thanks for all the tips. The "SEM glove" looks very interesting, just what I need. Is it the one produced by Bioservo (www.bioservo.com)?
