Subject: So stiff!!!

Hi everyone hope all are not to bad at the moment.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I was so stiff last night after I got out of our car to walk into our house you have to go around a corner and my mind was going around the corner but my body was certainly not, I had to take it in stage's it was funny I think if my neighbour's had have saw me they would have thought I was drunk but thank goodness it was dark and no-one was out.
It's unbelievable just how stiff you get from your neck down with this disease I just felt like a solid lump and the best about is I was not doing anything too strenuious yesterday.
Just thought I would share this with everyone.
Take care all Deborah.

Hi Deborah,

I know exactly what you mean, in my mind i want to walk fast but my legs feel a ton weight and won't do what they are told. It is very hard but sometimes you just have to laugh. When i was out yesterday i was staggering a bit and that is without a drink lol.

Do you feel that the humira is helping yet? although it is still early days.

It is a lovely day here the sun is shining so i guess i better make a move before i can't get off this chair.

Take care xx

Hi deborah,

I'm not too bad thanks, although my feet and hands are getting sore again but hope the steroid doesn't wear off completely for a wee while yet.

I don't know what made me think you were on humira. I must read about gulumuitab. I hope it soon helps you.

That is funny that there is another deborah, i thought it was you asking about the tens machine. Yes, i think the weather has to be nice again tomorrow. Scotland and Ireland seem to be getting it better than England for a change.

Nite nite xx

Hi Rhona I do hope your injection does last a good while and yes it does make a change that we are getting good weather.
I saw my son yesterday the oldest boy of 26 who has a/spondylitis of the spine he has had for 3 yrs now he had to give up work then but could not believe how much range of movement he has lost he cannot bend to lift his little son and have noticed him hardly able to walk but he try's to hide it from me I know he's Start's injection's this month don't know which one but the sooner he get's started on them the better I was really shocked he did not know that I had noticed.
Also they keep turning him down for DLA and I know that are finding it difficult at the moment with only one wage but we help all we can.
Sorry for burdening you with my prob's but I know that you will understand no-one else in our family does as they don't have these disease's but hope he get's this thing slowed down a bit we have to look on the bright side I suppose.
Good nite Rhona and thank's for listening Deborah.

Hi Deborah, I'm sorry to hear that you son is suffering so much, i hope they can give him something to help. It is such a worry when our children suffer. My oldest daughter has been diabetic since she was twelve and is having problems with her eyes, she has diabetic retinopathy and has had to have lots of laser treatment but it has meant losing some of her side vision. Has you son appealed after getting turned down for DLA? I have heard people say the the Citizens Advice can help, if he can't work he should surely be entitled to it.

Don't think for a minute that you are burdening me Deborah, that's what this site is all about so you come on anytime you wish. I have found the advice on here very helpful and you are right in saying that people don't always understand what we are going through.

Take care and hope things get better for your
son.

xx
