Lorraine do you have access to a rheumy nurse, or you could give the rheumatology unit a ring and see if you can seek advice. 4 months is a bit to wait while you are feeling like this. Take care

I agree with Jeanette you should try to see your specialist as soon as possible. GPS aren't all that good at knowledge of our medications or our diseases for that matter.

I agree with that Two hips. My GP is lovely and ben so good to me, but even she said she has little knowledge of RA. I was on,y the second person that she had ordered the specialised blood test for. In fact I am ringing my rheumy nurse this week, as my next consultant appt is not until December, and although I have been lucky with MTX controlling it, I still do not have the right pain killers or anti inflamotories when I have had the occasional bad flare.

hi Lorraine , would agree with phoning your rheumy nurse some drugs like prednisolone & some other drugs can cause depression but not sure about MTX , been on it since 1998 & not had problem with it apart from raised ALT one thing is long term health problems like RA can cause mild depression , http://www.nras.org.uk/ has several pages on it & there is several threads on this forum like bsk recomending mindfulness
