Dear Patient or Carer,

NATIONAL AUDIT OFFICE STUDY: How effective are services for people with rheumatoid arthritis?
The National Audit Office (NAO) is asking people with rheumatoid arthritis [RA] (or the carers of people with RA, whether paid or informal) to complete a questionnaire, to supply it with their experience of the NHS and other services for people with RA.

About the NAO study of RA services
This call to people with RA is part of an NAO study into services for people with RA, with a view to seeing how these services can be improved. The survey is supported by all of the countryâs major arthritis patient groups.

This study represents a unique opportunity for you to help the NAO identify issues in RA services that people with RA believe should be brought to the attention of Parliament.

How you can learn the results of the NAO study of RA services
The NAOâs report and recommendations from the study will be published on the NAO website in summer 2009. (If you wish, the survey administrator will email you to tell you when the report is published.)

Your survey answers will be anonymous
The survey is being conducted online via a specialist survey website, so allowing everyone who answers the survey to remain completely anonymous (no IP addresses or email details will be visible to the survey administrators or to the NAO).

Please give your views to this survey before the survey closing date of Friday, 23rd January 2009.
