Subject: Hi all, fall and steroid infusion xx
hi all i have had a horrible few weeks and to top it of this weekend i had a fall in fount of my 3yr old baby who was crying with me on the floor :( thankfully my partner and dad was there to help me up as i'm a heavy girl. i have badly bruised my hip and hurt my back so will be a few weeks for it to ease i suspect. i have asked for a steroid infusion as i had 1 a few years ago and did help for a few weeks, the steroid joint injections arn't doing a lot so he has agreed as i'm not pregnant yet. hope you are all well and can't wait to have a chat with some of you as not been on much x

Hi Davina, I'm so sorry to hear that, it's so distresing to fall, especially in front of your child but am glad you weren't on your own when it happened. I hope you haven't done anything too serious to yourself. Arnica cream is very good for bruising and don't forget ice packs (or frozen peas, which is what I use!) Steroids sound a good idea to keep you going for a bit. Of course you are off all your drugs at the moment, if I remember correctly. Hope it eases things for you. I'm struggling myself at the moment. Been taking Enbrel which is working quite well but I keep getting ill with infections and now have quite bad stomach pain, feel down about it all but trying to keep positive. Not always easy lol! Got a feeling I will be off the enbrel before too long. Am running out of options. Anyway, good to hear from you. Take care. xx

Hi Davina, You are having your time of it as well, i hope your hip gets better soon, Did you trip over something? I sometimes stagger a bit when i am walking and it makes me frightened to go out on my own in case i fall as there is no way i would be able to get up (and its not alcohol related) lol. What is a steroid infusion? is that different to the steroid that you get to help the pain all over? Hope things get better soon for you take care xx

hi rhona my knee give way the other leg and i went down like a ton of bricks, like you i worry about being on my own with my son as i live in a village and if i go over i wouldn't have much help. x a steroid infusion is stright into the vein and gives relieve for a number of weeks normally very quickly.

That is scary Davina, as bsk says just as well you weren't on your own, lets hope the steroid infusion helps you a lot. I have never been offered a steroid infusion, although in saying that when i was getting the rituximab infusion they did put some steroid in first. i have had plenty joint injections and steroids in my bottom that are supposed to work all over, but didnt know you could get a steroid infusion. Hope you feel better soon. xx
