Subject: Did anyone see the report on BBC

Mr Cameron you should hang your head in shame along with your croonies at ATOS. How could they say a man with heart failure waiting on heart surgery is fit for work???? The poor family 30 odd days later were arranging his funeral. What is this country coming to???
Mr Cameron of all people should have more compassion, I know like everyone else that there are people that flout the system, but for heaven sake, surely they shouldn't be getting things so wrong.
I watched in disbelief as people took hidden cameras in, the poor man with emphesymea (spelling) was gasping for breath and never got the glass of water he asked for.He didn't need to be tested any idiot could see just how breathless he was.
Mr Cameron should take the lead and remember the words charity begins at home. I am all for helping the lesser countries but not at our expense.
We pay our taxes ten fold in this country so we should get the help when it is needed.
My in laws are waiting for a shower to be fitted by the local social services they have been approved but it will take a year. My dad in law is 89 this november. When I rang and asked had they got it right I was told this is goverment policy. Due to cut backs it is deemed perfectly fine for them to just have a wash down. My Father in law is a very proud man who worked on the sonar systems in the Navy during the War how dare they Treat him like that. How would Mr. Cameron feel if he was told a washdown for the next year is all you are allowed due to cut backs.
I am sorry for this long post but I am so bloody angry with this goverment and the Liberals are turncoats all of these policy's were never in the agenda for them.

I better stop!!!!!

I agree Marlene, it is shocking.

My mother struggled in her bathroom and waited a year or more for her wet room and it was completed the week before she died. It made me so angry and upset.

The way the elderly get treated in this country is shocking! No wonder the youth generation have little respect for their elders if their elders treat theirs with none! My sympathies go out to you

I agree with all the comments made above, and could not believe the hidden camera shots of obviously very ill people, being classed as 'fit to work'.
Surely people with long medical histories should'nt have to go through these so called 'medicals'.
I think the medicines that we take and the amount of hospital appointments we attend should prove without doubt the shirkers from the genuinely ill.
Do they not check on people's medical history and write to doctors and specialist's before calling them for 'medical interviews'.
Surely this would be cheaper what with today's technology!

I also agree that the pensioners are being targeted for more cut's. Their tax rate was not decreased like younger people in the last budget.
They may lose a lot that Age Concern helped fight for years for. AND today's pensioners worked from the age of 15 till 60/65.
I am not yet a pensioner and have to wait extra years to receive it. But did work from the age of 15.
I think they don't realise that everyone gets old and no-one is exempt.
In this country the elderly are not respected.

I have just seen Kylee's post and the poor girl has had her DLA taken away after just being diagnosed with MS as well as all her arthur problems. What is going on in this country that our elderley and sick people are being treated this way???

It is disgusting how people are being treated. The whole point of DLA and Incapacity benefit is to enable people to live at home independently.

At one time, people with these kind of illnesses would end up living in a home. Financial support was given to prevent this happening and now they are taking this away. Do we want to see disabled people begging on the street like in other countries who don't support their ill?

Just read that the contract for the PIP Medicals is worth up to a billion pounds. It really makes me wonder what sense is there is wasting that type of money to hire a load of Hitlers that haven't a clue about medical conditions.

Just come back from in-laws. mum-in-law has to wait 18 weeks for her much needed operation, fingers crossed she keeps well until then.
I read the letter with regard to the shower they need, eighteen month wait. They seem to have disregarded the GP and Physio letters.
Dad-in-Law was assessed by someone from social services, told not to get in bath safety reasons. Then reported he was to frail to stand at the sink for to long so needed seat in shower.
Followed by priorty not urgent. #*#****###
Nothing more to say.

That is a ridiculous wait Marlene for someone that is so frail, could you maybe get your MP onto it? perhaps if you keep on at them they may hurry things along. When my aunt was alive i got onto social services for her and they got her everything she needed very quickly, although that was about 5 years ago. wish you well x

I think it might be worth a go. They are under social services for this shower and so far they have been less than helpful.
My local paper carried a story about a couple whose husband had an appendix op that went
wrong and he is wheelchair bound. Weekly hospital visits. He has a mobility car driven by his wife, they have had three accidents one clearly her fault the other two hit up the rear by others.
The mobilty people refuse to insure them saying they are a high risk and have closed the contract. So now the poor man is house bound. Clearly punished for other peoples errors but who cares??
It seems the only people hurting in this are the disabled once again . They are waiting for the outcome of the second appeal, hope the papers getting involved will help them!!!!
