hi all just started gabapentin for nerve pains. i get the drowsiness and double vision. and jerking i feel a nervous wrek on them will these side effects go once my body gets used to them

Hey Kylee,
i'm on pregabalin which is a similar but newer drug. My drowsy spells seem to be less frequent now i have settled on a good dosage, i don't get double vision - i assume that goes hand in hand with the tiredness. I might add that it has been very good for pain. Best of luck,

Keylee, Gabapentin is extremely good for pain relief, talk to your G.p and try and adjust the dose to suit you...Instead of taking it 3 times a day try taking it for 2 and see how you go...x

thankyou both for your comments i will have a chat with my gp. do any of you drink on this drug im going out tonight for a meal and dont no wether to have a drink or stick to soft drinks

Kylee, fortunatley I don't drink so I wouldn't be the best person to advise, I would think though that you should keep your drinking at a safe level and it shouldn't cause you too much problem...but I would ask the G.p for future reference...x

Hi kylee I have just took my 1 st gabapentin about half an hour ago I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't get too many Side affects from it, how long have u been on them kylee any better now?
