hi Wills , metoject did not change anything for myself , mostly because I messed it up & went back on tablets after 3 months

your blood test should show if its improving the RA , with reduced ESR & CRP but you can tell that yourself anyway , if you can get on with the injections its worth sticking to but not all of us like them , if it was a pen , I would have been a lot happier

hi marlene and colin,
thanks for your input, appreciated. I am just so frustrated by this god damn disease and what it's done to life for me and my husband and can't seem to get my head round that it is possible/probable that i'll never have a complete pain free day again - oh jeez what a thought. and i come on here and see the posts and see people a hell of a lot worse than me and i feel like a phoney lol think i'll go stand in the field and scream today :)
hoping you have a good day guys xxxx

Willis, Marlene, Hi guys, sorry to hear you are both having a dreadful day...Willis, my dads been told to go on the injection and his so terrfied, so I can understand how you may be feeling...try and stick with it for as long as you can, it may just make the difference...You may get used to injecting, though it may not be pleasant...out of curiousity are you injecting weekly, and how much of the needle need to be inserted into the skin? Warm thoughts and prayers for you both...xxx

Colin, hope you are well too, dads appts next week it wasn't today...I've kinda got the gist of what to ask the doc through this post...Thank you guys...x

hi yasmin
the injection doesn't hurt at all - tiny thin needle and i chose to have it injected into top of leg, once a week just like taking the tablets once a week. the nurse just seems to grab bit of fat then do it - not into vein or anything. this week though, husband or work colleague will be doing it - i'll let you know how that goes. but it doesn't hurt.
I had an Acupunture session yesterday - have one tomorrow then another 4 after that, likely to go to once a month thereafter. OMG even the difference i feel today i cannot believe it, a little stiffness as expected but my head is back on planet. it's the most 'together' i have felt for over 4 months and such a relief. my whole body just seemed to be sluggish and blocked but today, well, smiling :)
i get my bloods done next week and the results will show if the injections are having any affect on the RA (thanks colin ) so i'll let you know on that too.
hope you all have a good day
xxx

Great to hear the Acupuncture has brought relief Willis...you have to try different treatments to find out what works best for you, everyone responds differently to each...are you going private Willis or through the G.P?

Oh, great it will be a relief to for my dad to hear the injection doesn't really hurt...Do you think the leg maybe better than the stomach as theres more muscle on the leg, have your huband and your friend both been shown how to inject?

hi yasmin/marlene
not heard from davina - came on this morning to see if you'd had any replies from her as saw you were asking. I hope everything is ok and it's because she is busy. fingers crossed we hear from her soon. x

yasmin - got one injectin in stomach last week - that hurt lol not as bad as getting steroid jab and the pain was gone within half hour - hence me getting it in leg. if you doing injections for dad then discuss with nurse about were/how in leg and they'll show you. yes they were shown how to inject it thankfully.

xx
