Hi Willis, so sorry you are in such pain. I have been hobbling in and out of the sun Drs orders vitamin D level very low. One vit D pill a week combined with calcium and vitD twice a day. More bloods in six weeks. I like you am so fed up with the constant pain, and bad sleeping patterns. Its such a shame you can't get out in the sun, bless you.
Sending you a hug take care and hope you get out in the sun soon xx

I spent a lot of last summer not being able to sit outside because my elbows were in extreme pain and everytime I stirred outside, one of the bl**dy dogs would bark, making me jump and sending a paralysingly sharp pain right through both arms.

...Bless the little darlings!

Hi Liane, i have a dog but thank goodness barking is not one of her downfalls. The neighbours dog unfortunately throws its self at the fence barking like mad. To-day I was struggling to pick up a piece of paper and I nearly fell over with fright LOL well i wasn't at the time my shoulders and back are still not over it. As you say Bless the Darlings that's not what I called it. haha Take Care all

well kim, as daft as it sounds, as soon as the sun cooled off and cloud came over yesterday I practically felt much better. The pain and stiffness is still present but nothing to how it has been since last week. i hate being cold and always loved the sun although wasn't a die hard bather but now..... mild is nice. I only woke up 3 times in the night instead of the usual 6/7 but what a caper this is.
I hope you are feeling better than you were, I'm off to hospital on Saturday and so looking forward to a steroid jab!! need to talk meds too as meth not working now i dont think or RA is on the rampage with a vengence.
you take care xxx

Hi Willis
I hope all goes well with your steroid jab on Saturday. I first noticed my pain getting worse in the sun when I went to Greece several years ago and it hit me like a otn of bricks and spent the whole holiday in agony! I dont know aboujt you but the amount of people who have cone up to me and said "your arthritis must be better in this lovely weather" after I have shuffled from my car and in absolute agony these comment do not go down too well! I feel like we need a good storm to clear the air and ease up some of this pressure.
Take care
Kim xx

Pardon my english, it's not so good. I,m swedish.
There is no forum for arthritics in my country, you see. So I feel very lonely in my situation.

I have looked at the sun from the inside, but my moped needs to be fixed before I can go out. The moped is my legs sort of.

Like you I'm tired of the words: "You're feeling good now that it's summer, are you not?" I answer: "NOOOO!!!!" I need a steady temperature of 15-30 Celcius (bad at the Fahrenheit-thing).
But here the nights are cold and the dagys vary a lot. To sit in a rollercoaster is not a healing process. I lived in the Netherlands one summer. It was flat! 30 C night and day. I could WALK! WOW!

I went to get my bloods done yesterday and met a neighbour she asked what was wrong and I told her and that i wish the sun wasn't quite so hot as it is killing me - she says text book classic - "I thought Arthritis is a cold weather thing", I just smiled and pointed out the obvious as I hobbled to my car. Well it's aparant that the mthx isn't working on it's own, have allergic reaction to Sulfulzazine so wonder what is next. my appt is next weekend not this :(((( have called and asked to have a steroid jab in the meantime - we'll see, theres always hope. Ewa Jarl - welcome to our forum lovely to hear from you. We all have each other when the meds don't work or the weather or bad days or anything :) hope you feeling good today xxxxxx
