Hi Kylee , dont know , my dla was give for life but dont know if that means life , never had mobilty car , always thought cheaper to have one few years old + like bigger auto & cant get one cheap on mobility

have you filled in the form , its telling how it is & if you have some bad days tell them , not sure what you mean about walking changed but even if it has it dont mean you wont have a flare-up & back to normal , the new bio drugs dont seem to work forever

one thing I would question if you lost , what happens if you appeal , do you keap it until the appeal

good question colin. my walking changes from day to day some days im totaly unable to stand let a lone walk other days i can walk with crutchs other days i can walk un aided no day is the same as the last i dont no how i am till i wake up the nxt day.i think these dla forms are daft as its hard to explain your diease my arthritis affect every joint from head to toe but not all at the same time my flares jump from 1 joint to the next im always in pain but my mobilty is affected by the swelling on the joints for the last 2 weeks i have been unable to use my left are as i have flare in my sholder and the fluid has imobilized the joint so my left arm is currently pinned to my side im unable to lift or stretch it out. next week my arm could be fine and my knee will be affected. so till answer the questions like how far can you walk is hard.

Hi Kylee
I have just had to reapply for my dla I have had a mobility car for three years now and like you Im terrified they are not going to give me higher rate dla again. My walking varies as well and I have told them that on the form but I wrote the form as if it was my worst day in terms of pain and how far I can walk as that is when I really need the help/transport etc. My argument was that even on my good days when I can walk further, if I do walk too far it makes the pain worse the following day. Do you know how long it takes them to make a decision? Its giving me sleepless nights waiting for a decision! I would imagine though that with the car it gets paid a month in advance so I would hope that we would get at least a few weeks notice if we have to give it back.
I hope you get a decision soon and that they let you keep the car. Like you I cant afford to get a car otherwise and my motability car is my lifeline, I couldnt go out without it.
Let me know how you get on

Hi Kylee, I don't see how they could take it away from you, it's not as though your illness has went away. I think we all get good and bad days, some days i can barely walk but on the days my feet and knees feel a bit better the pain usually goes elsewhere then comes back again so i know where you are coming from. i had a couple of steroid injections a couple of weeks ago but before i got them i couldn't even get out a chair without help. Even the days that your walking is a bit better i am sure you still feel pain so try not to worry. x

hi kim i had a letter last week to say i will get the descion within 8 weeks. its awful having to keep filling in these forms waiting to hear what they have decided after not knowing the full length of our disabilities. i think its wrong they should make a descition on the form i think they should do medicals on every 1 at least they can see for them selfs how ever i think the medicals should be done over a few weeks if your condition varies. so they can see us on good and bad days. i hate it when someone else is holding all my cards. i currently do not work but i do have an interview on thursday for a till operater hoping its not going to make my flares worse as i do realy miss working. with out the caar i would not be able to even get to the shops as my nearest shop is a 40 min walk nearest bus stop is 20mins walk we live very much in the countryside in the sticks on our own

Hi Kylee

Good luck with your job interview. I too am hoping to return to work but trying to decide what I can do is a nightmare as like you I dont want to make my pain worse! I hope we both get a good decision with the dla. If they take my car away I cant get my kids to school so rally hoping hey dont!
Take care
