Hi All, Ive had "inflammatory" arthritis for past 3 and a bit years. been on Sulfasalazine for most of this time. Take diclofenic too. Well just back from Rheumatologist and she has confirmed I have Rheumatoid arthritis and wants to put me on methotrexate too. I am absolutely petrified to say the least. She ran through side effects etc but couldn't think straight so need to think about it and let it sink in.

Hi Susan , you should not worry , I been on 25mg Mtx + Sulfasalazine for about 14 years , folic acid helps most side effects with Mtx , on 5mg tablets six days a week & if they give you that you should be ok

Hi in the same boat just been told I have inflammatory arthritis start mtx in may because of tummy bug worried about side affects never took any meds or saw a doctor for 18 years until this now having steroid jabs and rattle because of the tablets I had over the last 5months I will not let this takeover

Hi susan,sorry to hear you have ra. I'was diagnosed in jannuary and also was scared off takin g mtx.(thought i would spontainilasly combust or somthing) lol.been on mtx/folic for 7wks now i'ts not so bad for me just he ad/stomache for a few days after,varies between people!! As my freinds on here said theres a lot of side effects in paracetamol
but you dont take notice of them!!!!. I would say give it a go ! They moniter you very closely !!.good luck..take care. Xx
