Gill , it vares from person to person how bad the RA affects you , I had to give up work within few months & job I realy enjoyed , my sister got RA & only needs few nasids sometimes & works full time for ASDA

with all the new drugs out , there is good chance most people's RA can be controled very well & hope it wont effect your job to much

Hi gil, whatever you tell your boss it should not affect your job. Honesty is the best policy, so when you are having a tough day they will help you as much as they can.
I know its easy for me to talk but don't worry as you say you are covered.
Your Boss I am sure has come across people whose circumstances change for all different reasons.
I wish you well and good luck with it all. Keep smiling !!!!

hi gil your employer will have to adjust your job to suit your needs under health and safety and the law. the form is to just inform your employers at this time your needs and how it may affect your working life, they can not discriminate you under disability discrimation act.
they will have to alter your job duties if they are difficult to do and retrain if needed.
if you need any more info contact your hr and they will be able to help more. xx

I told my employer about my RA via a medical questionnaire when I joined the company but I went to my manager and said that I was finding certain aspects of my job (things I wasnt told about at interview) a challenge and I was told well I guess you just handed in your notice. That was last week and I am still in shock

They can't make you hand in your notice. There is a law that says your company needs to look after you, if you were honest on your medical form, they employed you knowingly.
Citizen Advice Bureau will tell you exactly which way to go.
Your Manager firstly needs to learn how to treat the employees and secondly he could land the company in a whole load of trouble.
I can imagine the shock you must of felt being treated this way.How Dare They??
Take some proper advice before you do or say anything else. Al I wish you luck. Take Care
