I know Lorraine i hate it as well. I went to the hospital today to get a steroid injection and when they called my name i couldn't get off the chair,i needed my husband and a doctor to pull me up, very embarrassing. Hopefully you won't be too sore tomorrow if it was a soft landing on the grass. take care x

I have been all over the place for weeks, the pain some days is through the roof. Seeing the Dr at the end of the month to discuss morphine patches. This rainy weather doesn't help, but we do need it it's only April and on a hosepipe ban already.
The steroid injections are brilliant, but over the years I have had so many. I could do with one in my shoulder. As you say it is only temporary but it is great to have relief for even a day. Take Care hope you stay pain free for a good while xx

Hi Marlene, Perhaps you should see about getting one in your shoulder, i have had loads as well but i've been told it's not so bad getting them into a joint although they don't recommend more than 3 into the same joint in a year and i've had about 5 in my knee in less then a year, it makes you realise what it could be like if we didnt have this horrible arthritis. My sister-in-law got pads from her doctor to help her pain but i don't know if they are morphine patches or not but they do help her, i hope you get something to help you soon as it's no fun putting up with pain. Perhaps the sun will be here soon to help. xx

Hi Girls, good to hear you letting off steam about all the frustrating things like problems with shoes
and battling on just to do everyday jobs.
Struggling on to get pain relief injections and so on!
It's horrible but it helps me to know we are all the same and identify with each other.
I hope you are not too stiff after your fall, best wishes.

Marlene, I'm with Rhona, get one in your shoulder asap. I found the shoulder thing impossible, I couldn't even dress myself, never mind get in and out of bed. Hope the morphine patches help but it is rotten that you have to resort to that.
I've lost track of everyone's treatment, remind me, are you on anti tnfs?

No I have OA and I am trying hard to try to avoid any more surgeries. My shoulder is getting worse than ever but after my back surgery that was only a 20% improvement I just don't know if more surgery is the way to go.
I don't want to be on pain meds forever either. At the moment I am in loads of pain and fed up not knowing what to do.
When I read what it is like for all of you, i just think I am lucky in a lot of ways.
Take care everyone and thanks for your support. xx

My mum had severe OA and she didn't want further surgery after two shoulder and two knee replacements!

Hasn't there been some kind of breakthrough for treatment in OA recently? Any chance of finding out whether it is being offered to people yet?
