Subject: Pain management after a knee replacement.
Hi im new to the forum, was just looking for a bit of advice, my mum has had both knees replaced due to arthritis, the last was around 2 years ago. She still suffers from pain, she takes pain killers daily (mainly paracetamol & tramadol) and at the minute they are really swollen. Was just looking to see if this is 'normal' and if theres anything else she could possibly do to ease the pain. She's only 56 and pretty active but at the moment its affecting her day to day life and as you can imagine getting her down. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. Lindy

Hi Lindy, sorry to hear about your mum. I don't know much about knee replacement. I have had elbow and back surgery for OA. My elbow is fine my back not so good like your mum take pain killers every day. Has your mum spoken to her consultant about her knees swelling ?? Maybe her GP could refer her back to her sugeon. I hope she gets some answers soon. Send her my best wishes. Take Care
