Subject: Sailing with arthritis

Hi everyone, My dad has arthritis in his hands and a sailing boat.He is finding it more and more difficult to manage to grip and pull the ropes and I want to get him some waterproof comfortable gloves.Has anyone any advice?He will not use any pills or potions whatsoever to help with imflammation or pain.He just wants to carry on!He is 80 this year.I admire him so much

Try the electric heated gloves, you can get them in places like Halfords, think serious cyclists use them altho I'm not sure. Don't know what they are like as havn't personally used them and heard they are expensive. But, very comfortable and keep hands warm! Not sure if this helps, hope you find something!

Look up bionic gloves. I have some for gardening and they are very good, supporting your joints.Don't think the gardening ones are waterproof though.
