Subject: shock wave therapy

After suffering for 13 years with hip problems which acupuncture, anti-inflammatories, physio does not work, my new doctor has suggested shock wave therapy....is this new, and does it work?

I had never heard of this treatment. I googled it. Very interesting reading. It doesn't appear to be on the nhs correct me if i am wrong. £600 for three sessions. I hope you let us all know how you get on and if it is provided by nhs.
It seems America have been using this for a long time. As for the outcome of working sorry can't help.

I read up on the shock wave therapy - sounds interesting but might be a long shot and sounds expensive too :-(

If there are quick fixes then all the better...

I had sore painful hips and very sore stiff back from age 19 to 28 - I switched to a wheat free diet over 15 years ago and it changed everything.

I have more energy and now run regularly.

It's not easy - but cutting out wheat / corn and less dairy has made a difference for many people - but you have to be strict and honest with yourself .

I might start a diet thread to share my recipes for pizza / cakes etc. Good luck.
