Subject: Left ankle fusion
Hi ya
im looking for some information, 12 years ago i had a bad lorry accident and broke my tibia fibia and smashed my left ankle,i was off work for 6 months and to this date i still suffer with the pain in my ankle and leg due to swelling and artheritus, my walking has decreases over the years but the pain hasnt, i have decided to have the ankle fusion operation as agreed with my specialist as the best way forward, i am a little nervous as to what it is going to be like after the operation and if i will be able to walk properly again etc

hi Garry had motor bike accident , had compound fractures to right leg & smashed knee & ankle , off work nearly 12 months but able to play football several years later 19 years later developed RA , since then had Triple Arthrodesis of ankle , fusion of bones in heel but know at some point both ankle joints will either have to be fused or replaced which joints they want to fuse , ankle / heel or both , last time was in plaster for 6 weeks & then air boot for 3 months , its worth having it done , stop some of the swelling & pain in the joint

They want to fuse my ankle bone as ive got no cartlidge between my leg and foot joint, its just bone on bone rubbing.Ive had key hole on it already and doc said worse than they thought.
im hoping im off work for only 6 weeks as got office job on nights
