Hello,
Just been to see the doctor, I have bilateral osteoarthritis in my hips. I've got to have a blood test on Friday to check for RA. They are sending me to a physio and if that doesn't help they mentioned orthopaedic specialists! RA does run in my family, could RA cause OA?? I don't understand why I would have OA at 22??

Sarah x

Don't know much about OA I'm afraid. Although RA is more common in middle age it can pop up at any age for no rhyme or reason so I imagine OA is much the same in that sense.

Hi Sarah, OA is not for the old alone as many people believe. I have had OA since my middle thirties. I don't think RA causes OA
It is hard having this disease and twice as hard for you as you have them both.
It would be good to get an orthopaedic specialist to give you an opinion about your hips. I hope the physio helps you. Sending you a big hug. Take Care and keep smiling X
