Subject: medication

Before I start my post, I would like to say I agree with the other posts about the oil Anthony is pushing. I don't know about osteo, but for RA it's a load of bulls**t, otherwise your Rheumatologist would prescribe it for you. Anyway, I have had RA for about the last 6 years, and most of the medication you all know about. I am due to start a new drug, but I am really having second thoughts, as I am sick of all the toxic crap we have to take. There is a drug I want to try, which is plant based called Sativex, but as the plant is cannabis, it has not been given a licence in the UK. It was developed for ME, but works well for RA, see link

You can get this on a named based prescription from your specialist, but up till now I have had no luck. I would like to know if anyone on this forum has managed to get this for there RA?

Thanks

Sorry Stunt, but to knock something before trying and then trying to push cannabis on people is a little rich. 'Pot' and 'kettle' spring to mind but no offence to you meant.

Hi Anthony

If you read the post, you will see that Sativex is a real medicine MADE from cannabis that has a
licence in quite a few countries, but unfortunately, not here, and is PROVEN to help RA. If your consultant is open minded about this drug, he can prescribe it on a named basis. The difference between this and cannabis is Sativex is legal, weed ain't, and I resent the fact that you think I would tell anyone on here to do something illegal.

I'm sorry if you feel I was knocking you in my first post, but as most ppl on here with RA can tell you, most of the drugs you are given are really toxic, and if something as simple as this oil is a real benefit, dont you think our Rheumatologists would handing it out to us instead of it being pushed on the internet?

Anthony, I think that was a little uncalled for. Smoking a J for recreational use and using Sativex which are two really different things. And she was not advising anyone to take it, whilst you do advise people to part with their cash to try your product which has no scientific research behind it.

Hope i dont offend

Hi Nikki, you offended me as I am a he :-)
Thanks for your reply, I was a bit peed off yesterday, as unlike Anthony, I am not trying to sell anything, I am just trying to find out if anyone has managed to get this medication for RA.
The way the NHS is a postcode lottery, there may be someone in another part of the UK who has got this and can advise me.
