Subject: "Soft tissue damage"

After a particularly nasty flare up, I've lost alot of the movement in my elbows. I thought it was damage to the actual joint bone but after consulting with a surgeon yesterday he said that the joint itself isn't too bad - I assume he means as far as it goes after having RA for a decade. He says that it is mostly soft tissue damage and the surgery for trying to fix it has very hit and miss results. We've decided that it's only really worth me having it if I lose any more movement in my elbows. I can't remember the name of it but has anybody had this done?
