Hi Sue, I hate to say this but my mother couldn't get DLA until her OA was really quite severe and, by all accounts, it is getting harder to get it. I don't think age is taken into account for something like that but the severity of the disease. If you want to appeal, you might want to get someone to help you with it.

Hi Sue I had a letter also I was awarded only low rate care and this is the 2nd time I have asked them ti look at it again( reconsideration) anyways today they say I'm still just entitled to lrc I phoned them straight away all the stuff they say I can do by myself I can't I told them this but they just contradict everything you say I am so angry I see people who have not near as much pain as me and get more than me I have it in every joint and still not on meds to settle it. Sorry to rant on I definitely think you should take it further fingers crossed for u.
