Subject: Don't know what to do

I am 41 year old very cheerful and active {used to be} woman working as a staff nurse.I am diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 6 years before, Since then I am on treatment, but unfortunately my condition is not getting any better. Having terrible pain on my all joints {pain moves from one joint to other} makes it swollen and stiff.Ifind it very difficult to move sometimes. I have a lovely family and I am blessed with 2 kids, they are 14 & 8 year old. I am the main bread winner of my family.my husband works as a carer. I love my job and want to continue in my profession as long as I can.But I feel so sad & depressed because of my pain. I am not satisfied with my consultant and my treatment as well. Wanted to change my consultant but I am bit worried and not confident too. Don't know what to do?

If you are not happy with your consultant, what have you got to lose? It's your life so make sure you get the best treatment you can. You owe it to yourself and your family. xx

Hi Maria,
A couple of things, have you asked the GP wether they have a counsellor at the surgery you can see for a bit to deal with the feelings of how depressed you are feeling? Someone to talk to is better than bottling it up, and post here as well, everyone here understands what you are going through. If you are not happy with the treatment you are getting change, Bsk is right on that, what have you got to lose? You can always contact PALS if you are not happy with your treatment and not satisfied with it, if your GP is any good ask for his/her opinion, and if you are worried about what they will say, take someone with you who can speak for you, or help get your point accross. Hope it works out for you and hang in there. xx
