Subject: Rituximab soon plz help!!
Hi there!!... i'm starting rituximab in two weeks from now, and i am hoping it might work after failingwith remicade,humira and actemra!!:S However, i am very worried about its side effects which i saw on the net especially the one called PML infection which is fatal !!.. please do you have any ideas about this...please help me with any info or experiences..

ive been on rituximab for over two years - like you ive tried loads of other meds including humira which made me really ill - just wanted to put your mind at rest - i will admit that it makes me feel pretty lousy for a while after ive had it (usually sick on the day of the infusion and then washed out for about a week)but ive known other people who are fine and have no bad reaction at all so maybe its just me!the day you have the infusion be prepared to be in hospital all day - i usually have to be there by 9am and i rarely get home before 8pm as they keep turning the drip down due to my blood pressure dropping and sickness but the main thing is that this is the first drug ive tried that actually works - its not a miracle cure - my arthritis still bothers me but im nowhere near as bad as i was - i would honestly recommend it to anyone - i hope it works as well for you take care x

Hi Sera, i have been told it is a very rare infection so the chances of getting it would be very small, i worry about all the medications i take and the side effects they could have, it is frightening when they mention side effects like this. I just wish they could find a drug that took all our pain away without any side effects at all. Good luck and hope it works well, let us know how you get on with it. x

@ sandy :..i don't really mind feeling some sickness or washed out or something..just not any serious thing!!hopefully things will go just fine!!:D
@rhona: i've had the same thoughts millions of times..well it's just a wish!! maybe someday they would brought up a drug like this..

I think if you have made your mind up and are happy with your decision,Retuximab is the way forward for you.I wish you luck with it,and hope you get the relief we all crave for.
