Subject: Endometriosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis

I was reading on the internet the other evening about auto immune and I came across an interesting section about the connection of endometriosis and RA. Many years ago I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which required medication and surgery. I was just wondering if any of you ladies has ever had endometriosis diagnosed and went on to have RA.

I had endometriosis when I was in my thirties, the treatment i received was by medication for a nine month period. I have OA i must confess I have never heard of the connection but it sounds interesting. All I can say is us ladies do have it all. Oh to be a woman LOL. Take Care.

Hi Marlene, thank you for your reply. It's interesting isn't it that a connection with the two exists. I took Danazol for 9 months to put me into a menaupause then had surgery to remove what was left of the endometriosis with lasor which included lesions as well. This was back in 1986. I then had endomtrial ablation in 2009 which was the time that my RA was becoming noticable, even tho at the time I did not realise it was RA. Yes I agree, oh to be a woman. Gillian x
