Hi Julie, a big hello to you. It is a problem for a lot of us. Ask your GP if he could prescribe a sleeping pill for a short while. I was lucky enough for my GP to understand my sleepless nights were getting me down so for a short while until my back surgery was done they helped get me through the day. The pain is bad enough to cope with. The other question is are your pain meds strong enough for you? Have a chat with your GP or Rhumy DR. I hope you get your op done soon. Hope this helps Take Care!!

Do you believe in Accu-presure treatment ? I had that kind of pain on my hip & for few days I could not sleep...a slight turn while sleeping, woke me up ... what we believe is that 'chi'(the wind) move inside our body... if it is blocked, you experiance pain... to start.. I personally tried these : (1)a small spoon of black paper added in a cup of hot water (like you drink tea)..try 3/4 cups a day (2) elbow folded... hand near your chest... with thump of other hand press the crease of yr elbow (press the joint of two bones )... try this on your other arm also
(3) press between your Thumb & Index finger .. now the other hand... press with thumb of other hand... press for 1 minute & release .... (4) http://www.holisticonline.com/remedies/arthritis/arth_RA_acupressure.htm (there are few pressure points you will find in this website) ... follow the pressure points .... even if it is exactly correct position, you cannot do any harm.... if you find difficult to follow these, please inform me, I will try to send more pictures to demonstarte the presure points..
keep faith in accu-presure, try above steps.. you will feel better soon... pain relief you will feel immediately... like to hear from you, how you are feeling

Hello Mariene, sorry to mention here that you got me so wrong. I have arthritis myself, and could not even out of bed for 10 days (but that was abt 5years ego), GP opined that time I could not eat so many things, I shold thing not taking venture of some activities,
But I follows the exercises I mentioned, I eat some vegetables for their medecinal purposes, and I do everything I used to do.... That is how I dealt with my arthritis... Anyone with AR can be benefited from my experiance .. Do you agree that this is not an AD ?
Thanks

Hi, I agree this post is not an ad. The website you put on your last post is advertising remedies and this is not allowed. I am glad you feel you arthritis had benefited from your diet. Can I ask what form of Arthritis do you have. I am genuine in saying I am happy for you!! I suffer with OA and the severe pain is relentless and no matter what I do it stays just the same. I am also sorry if you feel I got you wrong and I am just telling anyone no advertising or advocating remedies as these should never be taken without talking to a GP. You Take Care and I hope your pain stays away.

Sorry to hear you have Gout I know this can be very painfull. I am very lucky to have a very supportive family. I get out when I can. I have to try to keep mobile as I have had spinal surgery for a slipped disc and overgrowth of bone due to the Oteoarthritis. Some days it is so difficult to be active. I do have very good pain meds, I do limit these as best I can.
This forum is a good place to get advice and have a good old moan and no one cares, because we all understand. It is easy to feel low in yourself when the pain is is bad and sleep is impossible. I do hope you keep well, and free from pain. Take Care
