Subject: Registering Disabled

Need some advice. I've recently been to Occupational Health and it was suggested that I register disabled. Has anyone done this, is it easy and basically what happens? At the mo I'm not too bad with meds, still working and driving and I can walk unaided but have to have frequent breaks to keep going. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi,I amlike you have to keep stopping and starting ,the damp is giving me hell at the mo.......as for you question? have you tried ringing the jobseekers,or DWP as they call themselves.....try using the phone in the jobcentre, they will let you know who to call,or ask anyway one of the staff might put in A direction,it's pretty hard to get on some of these things,at the moment,or check with your doctor he/she might have some no's to try...........or your local library,or council.....I can't think of anywhere else, maybe some one on here might have a suggestion, sorry I can help any other way, hope this ok that put up.........gill

Many thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my doc is not very helpful, always feel as if I am a nuisance but will try other places.

Hi
You can try the benefits and work website they offer some free advice but to get full accesss you have to pay to join. They charge just under twenty pounds but it is very helpful to navigate the DWP minefield of reasons not to award anything to you.
Good luck
