Subject: DEXTERITY AID

Hi -

Iām an Industrial Design student in my second year at Northumbria Uni. I am currently designing an aid to help people who have limited dexterity grip small objects. After some research and development I have come up with this initial design which is based around pliers, but with a comfortable, large grip and a long handle to provide leverage thus reducing the amount of force needed to apply grip.

To see initial design follow link:

This is just an initial idea and it would be great to open the floor to any ideas how could this be improved? Are there any bad points that you can see? Ect.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Oliver

Hi Oliver
imagine wont be to hard to make one & try it & get some people to try it out , make sure the handle dont pinch when in use ,

one thing you could try is Ratchet effect like they have on garden tools , could help with disability aids for cutting/gripping etc
