Hi there,

I'm not sure which type of Arthritis you have, but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I can empathise with you. Mine is so bad I cannot work and have not been able to for over a year, though there are days I feel ok and can get on with life.

Getting used to the not knowing which days you're going to feel ok and the ones you feel at your worst is all part of accepting the illness. Though I think the best thing you can do is work out what things you can do when you're feeling at your worst, so that when it does happen you don't feel hopeless.

Also, another piece of advice, if you're feeling really bad, don't wait for your appt. I've been able to see my Rheumatologist sooner by calling his secretary. I know it's hard but the only person who can get you feeling better is you, because unfortunately a lot of people get let down by the health service and I find being pro active and in charge of your care gets you better quicker.

Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon.

Hi Robbie
I have psoratic arthritis and mine comes and goes. I find the weather can make a difference but other than that i am affraid to say that i cant predict if i am going to have a good or bad day.
The best i can do is take pain medication, anti-inflamitary and Sulfa and try to keep positive.
Hope all works out ok for you just keep positive and keep smiling (it makes everyone wonder what your upto :) )

The question is: do you want to do everything what is possible to cure your arthritis? It is not easy but it is possible because I had arthritis in the joint of my ringfinger on my right hand and also at the same toe on my right foot. One day around 20 years ago I woke up with a terrible pain on my finger and my toe. The joints were pretty swollen. I went to the doctor and he told me: you have arthritis. My first question was: is it curable? His answer was: no. My next question: can you do something about the pain? He said: yes some cortisone and painkillers. I thanked him dearly. I know what cortisone did to my mom. I went out with my pain lol.DSo I start looking for information about arthritis. I found me a book from an american doctor. Title: Arthritis (cured in a natural way). Well that was exactly what I wanted. I start this kind of diet and SEVEN days later the swollen and the pain were gone. The problem is: nobody believe me when I say I got cured from arthritis. Secondly: if they know what the have to do to get cured they just quit. Their explanation is always like this: hooo if I can't smoke, if I can't drink alcohol or softdrinks, if I can't eat my favorite chocolates.... etc etc. Well than you stayed with your pain. This is food (dead food) which you CAN'T EAT. This doctor (who cured people with hands like claws from arthritis) says in his book: you get arthritis from the dirt in our food, just as additives, colors and other chemicals which your body can't manage. If your body can't take this chemicals it will store them on your joints. They got inflammated and yes: you have arthritis. So you can't eat something that comes out of a can, a box, a bottle.... nothing that is made in a factory. You can eat any kind of food. AS FRESH AS POSSIBLE. As much as possible without chemicals. Plus you have to take some vitamines for your bones. As there are: beeryeist (not bakeryyiest). It is available in natural stores in flakes. Molasses (the restproduct of cane-sugar). You warm up a little glass of milk (not hot just a little bit warm) and you put a soupspoon of beeryeist and molasses (molassies is sticky that is why the milk has to be a little bit warm). If you want it more sweet: put some honey to it. This you do THREE times a day. One pill or soupspoon fishoil a day is enough (too much is not good for the liver). If it possible move a lot: walking, swimming, biking.... I cured in all those years only two people by this book. One woman got arthritis all over her body. She could hardly work, walk, sit and sleep. It took her SIX weeks to get cured. She cried when she thanked me. The other one had arthritis in her fingers (just as me). She get the arthritis from eating too much cheese. So in this cheese was a stuff which her body can't manage. I did this cure afterworse another three months. Then I add my Belgian french fries to my diet. It was no problem after one month. Then I add chocolates. So everytime I add another dirty food. So novadays I eat pretty dirty. As long as my body can take it: no problem . If I get arthritis again: I KNOW WHAT TO DO. So I thank God that He give me this book from this doctor. (some forums don't allow to tell names of doctors). When it is possible overhere I will tell you the name. So go for it: IT IS WORTH TRYING!!!!!! If you don't believe me: stay with your pain!!! May God bless you all!! Robbierainbos.

if robbierainbos only had a pain in one finger and one toe then he is a very lucky person :) Robbie we have all tried different vitatmins and drinks and god knows what else but unfortunately the pain and arthritis is still there. As the doctor told you - IT IS NOT CURABLE - it can knock ten years of your life expectancy - that's what we are living with. getting up each day and not knowing if it'll be a good or bad day, can we work today, do we have to stay at home, can i hoover today or have to leave for my husband after his 12 hours of work? what about his food at the end of the day, can i stand up to cook it or my childrens or does my husband who has worked 12 hours have to cook his own food. do my children clean the house for me rather than play with their friends. oh for a miracle - we'd rather have a miracle cure than win the lottery. but thank you for your input and i'm very glad it worked for you but please don't come on here and try to 'convert' as it just doesn't wash bud, you see, it doesn't work for the most of us and we get a little aggrevated when people tell us to try this or that. My doctor doesn't like me being on this forum because of advise like yours but there is Marlene and Lynn and Holly and Dizijol (sorry can't spell)and my family - they keep me going and they make me think it is worth waking up each day so you take care and I hope you have little or no pain x
