Subject: ANTI-TNF

hi i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on these anti-tnf drugs do they work? and how can you go about getting onto them i believe its very hard as they are expensive. any advice would be great.

hi lynn, they do work for some people (and me!). To get them you have to have tried two Dmards first and failed to get an improvement. You have to pass two tests a month apart called Das 28 where they look at various joints, blood results and your assessment of how you are.

I got them relatively quickly. They are good but I'm finding I get a lot of infections on them so am ill a lot of the time. Am switching drugs shortly.

thanks bsk the lufluomide that im on at present is my 4th dmard and ive came out in loads of bruises so just had my blood work done but got my consultant on wed so need to ask and see what she says. thanks
