Subject: Research into young peoples experience of arthritis
Hi there, My name is Dr Ben Simmons and I work for the University of Oxfords Health Experiences Research Group. Together, with The DIPEx Charity, we produce the award-winning, online information website: http://www.youthhealthtalk.org/ . The aim of the website is to provide information about what it is really like to live with a particular condition (such as arthritis, cancer or mental illness). We interview around 40 people per condition, between the ages of 10 and 25, and share the audio and video clips of these interviews with the public. The website allows new patients, family, friends, healthcare professionals, teachers etc. to learn about a particular condition by listening to accounts from young people. We are currently looking for young people who live with arthritis and would like to share their experience with others. If you would like to learn more then please e-mail me. You will receive a friendly reply and a free information pack in the post. Your details will be kept private and there is no pressure to part. We are also looking to speak to a small number of parents or guardians of young people with arthritis. If you have a son or daughter with arthritis then please get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you all. Thank you for reading. Ben ( ben.simmons@phc.ox.ac.uk )
