Subject: electric shocks in ra

i have just been told i have ra but i am gettin terrible shocks in my fingers and toes is this a normal symptom.

I get them very frequently in my feet. I can be sitting down and all of a sudden I get a serious of shocks in my feet going towards my toes. They are really sharp pains and make me jump. Not had them in my hands tho just my feet. Dont get them so much now I am on a DMARD.

Hi Mo
I've got RA as well and I get this a lot too - from what my rheumy told me it is either caused by the drugs that you have to take as some of them can effect your neurological system and make your immune system attack that as well or purely down to trapped nerves caused by the swelling such as carpel tunnel syndrome (oh the joys of having RA!!) have a chat with your GP - hope you get it sorted,take care x
