i have inflamation of the cartilage in the sternum and between my ribs... the pains i get are similar to what you are describing. Apparently its common in people with any form of inflamitory arthritis like RA. however you could just be getting over the infection and strain of coughing so much. ring and ask the rummy nurse... would be interesting to see what they think xxx

Hi Davina, not sure about your rib pain, but i suffer with rib and chest bone pain due to OA.I also feel pulsating with it. I don't know if RA reacts in the same way. Give your rhumy team a ring if you are worried. X

hi davina. seems like im going through the same thing. noticed a small ache in my ribs about 3 weeks ago but as i havehad 2 chest xrays recently i put it down to a bruised rib. however on sunday morning the pain became unbearable and had moved to my chest and i had great difficulty in breathing. was so bad i ended up in a@e . after more xrays @ blood test it was thought i may have a blood clot on my lung.was given an injection and app for chest scan next day. after all this and more blood thinning injections i had phone call this morning giving me the all clear..still in mild pain but none the wiser as what the problen is. take care all gary
