Hi can anyone give me some advice ? i have just taken 1 dose of MTX last wed and i am visiting my Brother in 2 days time but he has just told me he is just getting over pneumonia will i be ok to visit

i think it is best to give the rummy nurse a quick call to set your mind at rest. Not sure how phnumonia is passed between people but if its just passed thru coughs ect you might be ok if you dont get too close to him and he makes sure he coughs into a hanky. hope it is ok for you to visit x

I agree with what's been said, check with your GP or Rheumatologist. I was informed to avoid situations where I knew if someone had an infection etc. Perhaps maybe for the future ask to have a pneumonia jab, I had mine a few years ago now. Hope all works out.

I don't think pneumonia is infectious but what caused it might be. As Sue says, maybe ask for pneumonia jab. I've had one.

I thought the pneumonia jab was given to all that need flu jab. Well thats another thing i have learned. I agree ask for it i also have had mine. X

Thanks everyone for the reply i have decided not to visit just going to speak on the web cam till he is over it , he has had an unexplained virus for 6 weeks and that has turned to the pneumonia it's too risky
