Subject: Car seat advice, need parent help!

Ok I know I have been at this child rearing game now for 9 mths and I feel bad asking for help but I do need it. I try to help others and forget I need to ask for it too actually.

I have Juvenile arthritis, so I have had it since 15 mths old. I am 4ft 11, tiny joints, tiny frame, plastic joints, movement that makes a snail look positively athletic etc.

I have had non stop stuggle with my sons car seat, he has a Maxi Cosi Pebble at the moment with a big red button to easily open and close the straps but the stupid bar is ridiculous, you need to push two buttons either side of the seat to move bar down so i can get to my son, my well parents can't do this let alone my husband and I with severe arthritis. Is there any other easily accessible seat out there and if so what? I know I blog about all this but as I say I am the one needing help today. Going out is getting impossible and I am getting lonely. I have well friends but all of them are single and not up for doing baby stuff! It is becoming a little isolating. It is just the car seat I am struggling with as have a nice easy buggy now he is 9 mths old!

Pls help, any suggestions on easy accessible car seats, don't need to lift it in and out I just want to be able to get my son in and out. I know car seats are there to be safe and keep your child secure but for crying out loud, not so secure I can't get him out of the car when I want!

hi carrie, now your son is 9 months old he can go into a forward facing care seat which you don't have to keeping taking the handle down to get you baby out. i now have a britax eclipse and i find it great, so easy to move him to a lay down position.
also only have to adjust the seat belt area once a month.

I have the Britax evolva (groups 1,2,3) it goes from 9 months to 11 years. Ive found it easy to secure into the car and it nice and easy when tightening the straps when my son is in it.

Go to mothercare and have a try of a few. They will happily let you try them out x
