Subject: First experience of elbow lock today
Hi folks, I am new to the forum and wanted to chat and get some advice about my arthritis. I have rheumotoid arthritis in my left little toe, left hand and right elbow. I've always managed fairly well with it but today my elbow locked whilst I was out shopping and as I tried to straighten it out I went very dizzy, an experience which I can only imagine is similar to almost fainting. I'm on sulfazaline and sometimes have an injection of steroids into my joint. Today's experience has really worried me. I'm looking for stories from older people with rheumotoid arthritis who were diagnosed when young, I was 26. I guess I wanna hear how whether you had a similar experience, any tips for preventing it occurring. Also, how has your arthritis changed over the years from when you were first diagnosed? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Donna

Thanks for the reply folks. I really hope it doesn't get worse, I'm about to start a new job in a week or so and have a medical declaration form to fill in beforehand. Even though this job is not physical one I am concerned that it may put off potetntial employers hiring me evn though they should not discriminate in this way. Any thoughts on how to deal with medical declaration forms? Will post this as a main topic for others to see also. Thanks
