Subject: SIGN the Petition guys

I have decide to repost this:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/rheumatoid_arthritis_desrve_benefits
Please anyone who signed this do so otherwise the ConDem government will disable us and people suffering disabilities even more than we are now! DLA is a benefit that is not means tested and is in place to help those who are experiencing difficulties in leading a 'normal' independant lifestyle this means helping those who are still employed stay employed, helping those who can't mobilise far without aid, etc.
Do bear in mind please that David Cameron himself a millionaire who can easily afford the highest standards of care and disbaility aids claimed this for his late disabled son and got it.
SO PLEASE SIGN AND GET EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO SIGN IT TOO. If we don't shout loud enough and for long enough we won't be heard.

I have had Rheumatoid for over 8yrs. Gone through loads of meds. Always been on the methotrexate since diagnoses 30th/12/2003. Last year I went on rituximab, nearly died with liver failure (not sure if it was the rituximab, inconclusive) On more steroids, anther cele.imab anti TNF no good. Now on infliximab, not to sure if working as I had a steroid jab in May2011. Now things are slipping away from me yet again and back on the dreaded painkillers tramadole etc. Today I have found out that my DLA has stopped? My home is geared to my disability, out of my own enviroment I'm hopeless.. this is so unfair. I didn't ask for this disease and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.. Please rethink this policy.. it is the honest, genuine people who are suffering, who need this benefit. I worked full time from the age of 16 till I was 43, paid tax, paid NI. I have a small pension because I was investigated unfit to work, which I got before the age of 50, I pay tax on this small pension of 140.00 per month. PLEASE PLEASE RETHINK

Hi Tina:) Please appeal this decision if you need any help just let me know and I'll try and point you in the right direction.

The system has gone to pot and needs revamping especially for those of us that have a specialist diagnosis that cannot be feigned.

Please keep in touch and take care xx

Dear Tina: I think you should change ur tabs as I found the tramadol to be the worst useless so called painkiller ever caused more problems that what it was worth. Ask your Dr to get you off the Tramadol I was on that for a short time and it had dreadful s/effects it made restless as hell especially at night I had to come off it, the complete opposite effect it was supposed to have. Dr will usually put you on a anti depressent med as the drug companies claim they can be used as pain killers. I've had dreadful problems with pain from my RA especially at night and I feel the consultant wont put me on a high enough dose. These drugs are neuro inhibiters and they dont actually kill the pain at source but try and block the pain signals to your brain if you have been taking pain killers for years like me you need higher doses as ur system gets used to the meds and fails to block at the neurons. I would ask ur GP, consultant or ask ur specialist RA nurse to change to another med. I can't recommend a pain killer as everyone is different some may work for some its a trial and error thing for each individual. I've had RA for 10+ yrs and yet and \i've still to find a suitable painkiller. All anti inflmatory drugs r serious and ur Rheumatology Dept and GP should be regularly monitoring you to check ur OK. When I 1st went onto anti - inflamory drugs I had some horrific side effects from them The Drs don't tell you about this at the time. The other thing that concerned me is why have you been taken off ur DLA have u been reassessed recently? I am at the moment filling in my LC for WQ as I am being transferred from IB and am struggling with it as it is just asking for far too much info and I am finding it hard where to start as it is time consuming and they (DWP)should have all this info already. Can't find an example of how to structure or what exactly to put down so am swamped with what exactly to put down just sheer madness. Ps for what its worth I am on Nortriptyline as a painkiller supposed to be a more recent drug for this use but I find it totally useless as I am not on a strong enough dose and if I do take more am usually like a zombie the next day.

Hi Sgt Pepper try looking at www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk under tax credits , benefits and Minimum wage. there are some great stickies there that help with filling out the DWP forms for ESA, DLA and the transition from IB, they also give excellent advice on the ATOS medical assessments.
