Subject: Positive RF upper back and chest pain radiating down arm - anyone else!!!????
Hi, I am getting nowhere with my GP or Rheumy so any suggestions what to do next please. Today has just been awful and I am so frustrated with the whole sytem!
I get a tingling sensation over the skin on my back too. The arm pain is like I have just written a million-word essay so everything is crampy and tight right into my hand. Wondered if I have costrochronditis or AS so far my only tests in two years of this is a blood test raised RF, but ESR and CRP normal and a ultrasond of my shoulder joint (which doesn't hurt - though while being examined they just said this is what was asked for & it is probably referred pain grr).

Sorry to hear of your pain. Hope someone answers that has or has had similar symptoms,
I find Consultants never give you a straight answer, and you are always more confused after seeing them, than you were before you went into see them.

Thank you Dollie. Physiotherapist looked at me like I was mad because it doesn't hurt when I move in the particular positions that they want you to do. I feel pain the least when I am moving around a lot though it can take a lot of effort to get going then it comes back as soon as I stop. Ended up just phoning GP saying pain unbearable last week, he just left me prescription for stronger painkillers - didn't mention a follow - up or anything. To be honest, they didn't help much at all and made my vision blurry!!!

hi Rachael i have severe erosive ra for 15 yrs
i have pains in the chest and back this is due
to inflamation. sometimes my arm and fingers really
hurt to. i take prednisone and azathioprin.
i hope you are doing ok.. Bones
