Subject: feeling fed up

Came off MTX because of side effects after being on it over a year, hubby and me had been considering the possibility of adding another monkey to our family but have decided to wait untill the kids are both in school. Was left with no medication for inflamation just ususal pain meds. Had to ask the doc to give me a NSAID other than naproxen becaue it causes me horrendous acid reflux so she told me all they give is naproxen or ibprofen so ive been left with 400mg ibprofen x3 a day. Used to take indometacin when i was younger but can remember if the rummy gave me that or the GP so not sure who to harrass for that one. OMG the ibprofen are MONSTER tablets!!! massive, oh and ive got omaprazol to protect my tum.
Anyway ive managed to get an appointment with the rummy nurse next week as i want to try a differant DMARD, sulphazaline seems to be my one of choice as it seems ok before pregnancy and even during with minimal risk. But again i think im going to have to battle. My rummy team are poor to say the least, as ive said in a previous post i could have had an occy involved months ago and wasnt informed i could have help like that. I really do feel that inspite saying how much i struggle to do things with the kids and often things around the house i get looked at by them and they think " 24, young oh shes just exagerating". GGGrrrrrr
Im having one of those days where im sick of being sick, nothing seems to be working as i want it to which is making me feel like a granny. moan over lol, thankyou for listenING X

Hi, have you tried Arcoxia for the inflammation, it is by far the best i have had, literally worked overnight,. I know how you feel with regards to Drs thinking you are exagerating with regards to how painful it is but then i find that with most people too. Being only 24 must be really tough, i feel i am too young for all of this and i am 52 LOL:) It gets us all down but we have our moan and then bounce back to fight another day. Take care x

Kirst, sorry you are feeling proper fed up and who can blame you. I can understand how you feel about them looking at you like you are lying, when latest problems began i was sent to an orthopedic guy after scanning my hips he told me they are fine and anyway hip trouble dosent present like this he was so bloody rude (sorry six years on it still smarts). I went back to my own GP in tears sobbing i don't think he liked me or he thought i was lying to him. My Gp replied or he simply dosen't know what hes doing. I was sent to a different team and within three weeks diagnosed with OA in my spine and a slipped disc along with bone spurs. Some time later i had surgery this cured about 25% of pain not too great but OA can't be cured.I was 53 at the time so its not just because you are young it so depends on your rhumy team. I have to say i am lucky to have a first class network now!!! I do hope when you go back it is all a bit more positive for you. Its hard enough for us without people looking at us thinking because they cant see your problems all is fine, and maybe we learn to cope just a little to well. How many times when asked how you are do you say fine when the truth is your are in agony and are so tired and worn down by it all??? I think we get a bit afraid that people will class us as moaning minnies. Well honey not on this forum!!!!!! You take care hope this post helps!!!!!!! Hugs coming your way. X
