Subject: Antibiotic Therapy

I've had RA since 2002 and until 2004 I was very seldom pain free. I could barely walk, knees were swollen and painful, as were my feet, and I could no longer straighten out my arms or raise them over my head. Sleeping a whole night through was now a distant memory. My GP was insistent I see a Rheumatologist. My GP and I had discussions about all the medications used to treat this disease. According to him, they could be worse than the disease itself. He felt that I should learn everything about RA as the time was coming when I would have to decide whether I wanted quantity or quality. He was very honest and open about this, very direct in his assessment of the drugs (most of which he felt had very serious side effects) and to this day I am grateful for his openness. He felt I should take a positive role in the decisions made for my disease, as I was the one who had to live with those decisions. I saw the rheumatologist. He took one look at me and wanted to start me on methotrexate (MTX) immediately. He told me that MTX had very few side effects (lies) and I had better get used to the idea that I had RA and was going to have to live with it!!!! I refused the MTX. I went home and researched the causes of this terrible disease, and stumbled across some clinical evidence that there was a connection between RA and infection. The role of mycoplasmas in rheumatoid disease, is very significant. Mycoplasmas, that's what they search for in all the patients, because that bacteria is so small it can live in the nucleus of a cell, and is the culprit that triggers these diseases in many. Being a bacteria, it can be killed with the right antibiotic, and the proven drug of choice is approved, and been around forever... it is used to kill off the microbes hiding in the fluid in the joints. Simple, safe, inexpensive and effective treatment. Treatment goal is to completely eliminate the bacteria and thus remission. I was so intrigued, because the word remission was not even possible. I went back to my GP,and asked for his support.I was so lucky that he was so open minded, he agreed. The antibiotic is taken 3 times a week and it didn't take long before I started to feel something on the antibiotic. The treatment worked for me. My range of motion grew with each passing day and I am my old self again. I make sure to pass what I know on to everyone and anyone I know or don't know, about the wonders of this great treatment. What have you got to lose by trying out an antibiotic, compared to the reality of a future of toxic drugs that can cause a lifetime of problems. Definitely worth looking into and giving it a try! I feel amazing and I still work full-time. My condition is monitored by my GP and one other doctor in the UK, who offers this antibiotic therapy. In severe forms of the disease, he also offers the treatment intravenously in addition to the tablet form.I would urge everyone who feels as I have with this terrible disease, to start this treatment, because it works. I have been there with them saying it does not work. Well I have proved them so wrong as have thousands of others who have tried it. You must and I say again must start this treatment as soon as possible. Do not worry that you have had this disease for many years as I know of people who have had fantastic improvement. We are all in this together. I trust that this helps and encourages you to go forward. Please contact me again should you have any further questions, or maybe we can arrange to speak.

Dear Christine,

I am so glad you got in touch - that is the second time I have added a message on the forum and you are only the second person to get in touch - I was beginning to think 'these people must love their illness' . I wish somebody had told me about the antibiotic therapy in 2002. Between 2002 and 2004, I was constantly in pain, tired and depressed - I walked like I was 94, and I basically lived in a lot of pain in just about every major joint of my body. The damage irreversible. Then I came across the antibiotic - and it was a medical revelation to me! It was my new hope that I was going to actively pursue it.

I was never happy to pursue the toxic drugs route - I am a befriender at my local hospital and I have seen first hand what these drugs can do. Why would you want to take an anti-cancer drug? A drug that kills off your cells and in some cases, can cause death. It is highly dangerous. Furthermore, when that stops working, then you go on to even more powerful drugs.

Finding out about the antibiotic treatment, was like striking gold. This form of treatment made so much more sense than anything I'd been told by anyone practising in the field of rheumatology. I knew there and then that I wanted to try this form of treatment.
It didn't take long before I started to feel something on the antibiotic. My range of motion grew with each passing day and I am my old self again. I make sure to pass what I know on to everyone and anyone I know or don't know. It's the least I can do because it is about educating oneself. What have you got to lose by trying out an antibiotic, compared to the reality of a future of toxic drugs that can cause a lifetime of problems. Definitely worth looking into and giving it a try!

I believe the earlier in this disease you start treatment, the sooner it works.

I feel very good and can say, without a doubt, that the antibiotic works for me. I consider my journey away from rheumatoid disease still a work in progress, but a pretty healthy and, most importantly, pain-free one. The antibiotic protocol has given me a better quality of life and I still work full-time.

One last thing before I go - I have to tell you that on a recent visit to my local hospital, the then rheumatologist saw me and could not believe it was me.

I trust that this helps and encourages you to go forward. Please contact me again should you have any further questions, or maybe we can arrange to speak. gfilipe@hotmail.co.uk

Hi Gemma

My wife has recently been diagnosed with RA. She like yourself does not want to go on toxic medication.
I am very interested in your comments about Antibiotic Therapy for RA. Are you able to tell me what antibiotics you are taking and how does my wife go about getting onto this treatment. The consultant has already said that MTX is the treatment she should go on. Do we need to insist on Antibiotic Therapy?

Your kind advise will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Wasim

I totally understand where your wife is coming from - the toxic drugs do not help, they suppress the immune system, are highly dangerous, and when one stops working, then its another, and so on. Rheumatologists do not care,
you are merely a number to them. They are a joke - they study RA but they've not got a clue may be if they had the pain for the day, they would change their minds.

My rheumatologist told me that MTX was the only hope for me, then when I refused it, he told me that I was dicing with my life. He told me to go home, have a good cry, get a grip and contact a support group, and next time I see you, you will know that I was right'. I don't think I would bother with the hospital, rheumatologists tend to 'poo-poo' the idea of an antibiotic working for RA. They won't even listen, as I found out. This therapy is widely used in the United States. Furthermore, clinical research took place at the Kennedy Institute for Rheumatology (Charing X Hospital London) and 60% of patients improved dramatically. Most recently, a research team at Kings College London, have proven that there is a link between bacteria and RA. What more do rheumatologists need to deliver this to patients? but they are not interested, they would rather top you up with really powerful toxic drugs, because maybe they are on huge amounts of commission money from pharmaceutical companies and instead dismiss this antibiotic as 'not proved and hasn't been tested'. Well it has been tested, proved and it works.

Kay,

I will not name it on the website because it is a prescription only drug - furthermore, if you take the view that it doesn't work then please do not pursue it.

Kay, why on earth would you write on a forum, presumably, looking for help, and then dismiss and humiliate the very first person/idea that comes along? You will not be going very far with your current attitude.

I dont think you've hit a nerve, but I do think you'll be hitting a brick wall some time soon. I believe I judged you the same way you judged her, it's not nice when the shoe is on the other foot is it? No-one on this forum knows eachother kay, so what point have you made? None. This is a place where we can all HELP eachother, telling someone who has bothered to make an effort on here that her real motive is to spam everyones email is not helping.

I never said anything about her character all i did if you read is ask questions that weren't answered. For your information my rheumy doc is brilliant he listens & explains everything that is going on with my treatment. Also i would have thought if this antibiotic therapy was so amazing the docs would start using it.You'll find most drugs have side affects.Plus i thought antibiotics weren't suppossed to be taken long term as your body gets used to them then they stop working.
