This was an article in a magazine I read yesterday from Arthritis Research UK.
We're looking at ways to use cell therapy to repair damaged cartilage early. For rheumatoid arthrits, it may be possible to develop drugs to switch off unwanted immune responses without suppressing protective immunity. As I have had RA for 8 years I hope it works but have to remember it has to be developed then tested on patients (I for one would volunteer) then the Primary Care people will probably say it is to expensive. Can we ever win? As I am now 64 it might not happen in my life time even.
