Subject: Need advice please

Hi guys, hope everyone is well. I just need a little bit advice, I am currently on MTX injections and I do them every Friday early evening. I work shifts and can do upto 10 hours on the Saturday, after doing the injection I find myself more tired than normal (and im ALWAYS tired :-( ) I have recently applied for "flexible working" with my company but my manager is giving off the impression I am not going to get what I'm asking for, ( Monday - Thursday , Tues - Friday) I even have a letter from my doctor that says I am unwell for 48 hours after the injection and it would be more beneficial for me to work these shifts. The annoying thing is there is a few people in my department that do get certain shifts, and it's kind of a "face fits" office I sometimes get the impression they think oh your only 22 you'll be fine you don't need these shifts etc... but they don't know the pain I'm in everyday, the sickness, fatigue etc... You all understand. I'm not in the union but I am considering joining as I feel at times I do not get taken seriously. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. x

hi amy, in the meantime, can you change the day you take your injection or wouldn't that make any difference?

Hi Amy I agree with bsk, can you not change. I did because it did not help me the day after when I have my grandchildren, I did my injection on tuesday had my grandchildren wednesday and found myself so fatigued and tired. so i changed to wednesday and feel better. If you can change to the day before you are off work, at least your not asking for favours, which i would hate asking for, and you have time to get over it. ?

The clinic at the hospital is a Friday and when I asked if I could change it they weren't keen and wanted me kept in the same routine :-/ I am waiting to hear back with the result of the flexible working form. I don't like asking for favours but it does irritate me slightly when people get certain things without any hassle. Sorry rant over! Lol x

Yeah do them myself but go up to the hospital once a month to get my bloods checked because my White blood count went really low before so they keep an eye on it. It's a bit of a hassle but I'm used to doing it on the Friday now even though I don't get much of a weekend x

Amy, wish you luck with the flexi working forms. Don't class it as a favour you work for this company they should have your well being at the forefront until you are sorted out a little better. You take care and once again wish you luck x

Thank you, I do hope I get somewhere with it. I just realised last night I never explained i'm not on set shifts at the moment so sometimes I work different days each week so that's why i'm struggling so much. I would just prefer to be in a set routine. Fingers crossed <3 x
