Subject: mxt and sore throat
hi was just looking for some advice ive started my mxt last friday and ive developed a sore throat i am sure i read that if this happens you should call the dr does any1 know if this is right i dont want them to think im silly if i call them with just a sore throatx

Yes, you should call them with a sore throat as soon as you get one. You should be called in for some blood tests. This is purely to check that your white cell count is correct. I got quite a few whilst on mtx and it was always treated as a possible emergency. I was always fine by the way but started on antibiotics.

thanks bsk i called this morning and because ive only started the mxt on frid they told me to take antibiotics till thurs and if the pain was still there i had to go for bloods and throat swab. i cant believe there are so many side effects with this drug i just hate the whole thing and hate mxt xx

the next dose is due frid so if i go down on thurs morning get bloods done if throat isnt better then hopefully they can tell me then what is happining to fridays dose??? its all a bit unknown i fely awful yday felt so sick bit better today though my throat is still sore to swollow so im not sure.

gotthe all clear from the gp to take the next dose of mxt but my urine keeps coming back with high counts of blood in it ive to repeat the sample today or tommorow, has anyone ever had any problems like that.
