Subject: Don't know what else to do!

It's 0410 in the morning, I'm awake yet again. Totally fed up wth feeling sick, aching and taking medication. I'm either popping pills, lodine, folic acid and lansaprazole of injecting methotrexate which make me feel sick or sat with the tens machine on. For the last two nights I've had a migrain which came from nowhere. Then my husband says I'm getting him down!! Some people just don't have a clue what your going through. I'm so glad I joined this forum and can talk to people who do understand. Thanks for listening.

Awww sorry to hear your having a rough time at the moment (((hugs)))

I know what you mean though, people do not understand the side effects and the pain. I have since starting plaquenil getting 2 migraines each day, it is so hard to deal with. On top of that we have a severely autistic child who needs 24/7 care , I feel like if I do get a ''firm'' diagnosis of RA, then I do not know how long I can carry on being strong for my family and dealing with the drugs, and the effectS OF RA. It is tough and I have had people say to me this week ''its just a bit of arthritis, you will be fine, you LOOK ok....'' YEAH RIGHT!

To both Sharon and Julie loads and loads of hugs and support
I feel for both of you and i agree i honestly don't believe that anyone else really understands the disease and the side effects of the drugs we have to take. The belittling of ra by most people is exhausting having to always explain and i feel like i moan all the time. Julie i found that the good thing about getting a firm diagnosis is that i am slightly better dealing with it mentally, i don't feel as out of control as when i didn't know what was going on. Mind you today my left leg is numb and immobile and i am supposed to take my two kids off for a long weekend and i feel like crying before we have even started off. But i am in admiration that you are coping at all with your child that needs round the clock care.

To sharon and julie, sending all my best wishes to both of you. You both sound like you are coping well although you feel down at the moment. Lack of sleep is the worst, when tired it is hard to cope. What mads said is true when you are diagnosed properly things start to jump into place. You both hang on in there there. You can do it!!!! Love to you both. X

Had two good days but last night was looking out the window watching the young ones pinching the sun flowers out of the neighbours garden, they were on the home from a good night out by the look and sound of them. I was awake with pain at two thirty they were awake with the alcohol. It made me smile watching him give his stolen flower to his girlfriend, who said romance is dead (LOL). To-day i have rested as much as i can but in a lot of pain, whats new two days off pain i suppose was a bonus. Just took pain meds hoping to sleep to-night just have to wait and see. Oh well good-night all!!!

As its well documented by the times I post on here I have trouble sleeping alot.

The new meds and painkillers eventually make me sleep but there are nights I am awake till 3am-4am and then when I do lie down I start to feel wierd and think im hurting here and there and then my mind races that much im wide awake again waiting for something to happen.

Ive always been one of those people who will lie there and hear a noise and think who or what was that etc

I hope you can get back to regualr sleep, im trying to do it and luckily the meds have a sedative effect.

Have you asked for some low sleeping tablets?

Ive been off for 3 months and my GF has epilepsy and its been bad because of stress of me and tbh i think weve been lucky to survive in a small flat with 1 room and 1 bedroom to be in each others pocket 24/7 so i understand when a partner says you're getting me down.

Keep you're chin up and hugs and hope you have some better days

Awwwww Sharon bless you hunnie :o)

Your right this site is a godsend! It's nice as we know we can come here and not be judged or have people tell us we look ''fine'' - That in itself is so nice to have the understanding.

Big hugs!! xxxxxxxx

try Amitriptyline to aid in sleeping, it works a treat but you need to get this prescribed by your gp.
Its actually an anti-depressant but used in low dosages it aids with sleep and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
I used it when i was really bad and did not sleep for 6 months, first low dosage knocked me out for 20 hours of glorious sleep. The same dose now takes me through the night and i feel great in the morning.

regards

Paul
